Real Aid is an international non-governmental, non-political, non-religious
independent organisation which is constituted as a charity under a memorandum
and articles of association, the charity number being 1089316. It has an
established network with headquarters in Tickton, East Yorkshire and
international offices in Sierra Leone, Albania and Bulgaria

OBJECTIVES
"To advance education
worldwide and for the public benefit to relieve persons and in particular
children who are suffering sickness, need, hardship or distress anywhere in the
world as a result of famine, drought, flood, war or any other calamity"
HISTORY
Real Aid commenced operation in 2001. Since then we have delivered aid to
Sierra Leone, Kenya, Asia, Moldova, Ukraine, Romania, Albania,
Lebanon and the UK. Much of this aid is donated by the general public and businesses
throughout the UK. Aid is sourced and containerised at the Tickton aid supply
centre before shipping to our recipient countries. It is then distributed by our
own “in country staff” to the poorest people and marginalised communities as
well as orphanages and institutions.
FUNDING
Unlike many other
organisations Real Aid does not rely on outside funding, all present costs can
be met from income from our charity shops. Any additional funding will enable us
to expand projects. This is very important to our organisation it means that
when we receive a private donation we can guarantee that the donation
goes directly to help others, in some cases the money is simply wired directly
to our teams overseas.
