SMILE FOR A CHILD 2010                 

Smile for a Child is our summer campaign to raise funds for a specific project.  Set up in 2007 funds raised to date have been utilised for the development of the Children's Resource Centre in Bulgaria and a village school in Hamilton, Sierra Leone.

HARVEST FESTIVAL 2010

During Harvest Festival various groups and schools collect and donate aid for our annual appeal.  Real Aid welcomes donations of food, hygiene and educational products to send to children and their families in some of the poorest countries in the world.

We are appealing for

FOOD - RICE, PASTA & TINNED FISH

EDUCATION - CRAYONS & EXERCISE BOOKS

HYGIENE - SOAP & TOOTHBRUSHES/TOOTHPASTE

Donations can be taken to our shops in Beverley, Quay Road and High Street, Bridlington, Hornsea, Driffield, Hessle, Newland Avenue and our head office at Tickton.

CHRISTMAS GIFT BOX APPEAL 2009

This years Christmas Gift Box Appeal has been a huge success - over 4,000 boxes have been received. 

Many thanks to everyone. 

Phil Brown, Manager of Hull City AFC  states “People who have children, myself included, will tell you that when the kids are suffering, you suffer as well. Obviously, the children across Africa suffer a lot and if we are fortunate enough to be in a position where we can make a difference to their lives at Christmas time then why not do it? Myself, the players and everybody connected with Hull City supported Real Aid last year and will be doing so again this Christmas because it’s a very worthy cause. I’ve seen pictures of the kids receiving their gift boxes last year and that brings home how much it means to them.”  Oct 2009

DONATIONS

Real Aid is continually looking for quality clothing, shoes, bric-a-brac and other general household goods.  Items can be taken to the Aid Supply Centre or any of our shops for sorting as either aid or to be sold.

VOLUNTEERS

Real Aid also welcome applications from anybody who would like to join our team of volunteers.  We are looking for the following individuals with a little time to spare to:- 

         •   help at the Aid Supply Centre in Beverley

          •  drive the vans

           • help in the shops
